Pomegranate Juice Is Packed With Antioxidants

Posted in food, health by Fated Blue on September 24, 2008

It’s time to start ordering pometinis at girls’ night out (or making your own pome-ritas at home). A new University of California, Los Angeles, study ranked 10 beverages by their levels of disease-fighting antioxidants—and pomegranate juice came out on top. Here, the healthiest beverage powerhouses:

1. Pomegranate juice
2. Red wine
3. Concord grape juice
4. Blueberry juice
5. Black cherry juice
6. Açaí juice
7. Cranberry juice
8. Orange juice
9. Tea
10. Apple juice

While there is no doubt these foods produce quality drinks with high levels of antioxidants – the study referenced here misses “tart cherry juice” – which scores higher than any of these as far as total ORAC units per serving.
Check out the independent analysis link on the top of:

Anytime you can find a juice that a whole – not from concentrate – juice you will be doing better than a concentrated (boiled under vacuum) juice.
