The 9th Soul

Just finished reading Bob Ong’s Kapitan Sino

and I felt so so so sorry for the sad state our dear country’s in 😦 I’m not gonna give you spoilers but the whole gist of the book is to be our own little hero. Noone needs to be SUPER in anyway to be called a hero. Whether it be picking up trash or conserving water, its already a heroic act in its sense. And that being super doesn’t always mean that the whole world will love you just like what we see in the movies or the comics. Last, I also realized that no single person on Earth can save everyone every time. There will always be casualties, sacrifices that need to be made, and decisions that need to be decided upon, sometimes at the heat of the moment.

5 stars for Kapitan Sino. A million more for Bob Ong.

perhaps one important lesson is: we need not be a superhero in order to do something good for our country.
