Amy Winehouse dead at 27 due to drug overdose
It was so fast. One minute I was tweeting, the next time I pressed F5, it was trending, #amywinehouse. And it told me she’s DEAD.
The news available at the moment (or at least on Twitter) is from holy moly but the site is currently down (probably due to massive flooding). Then, as of 1 minute ago, dailymail published its article. All while Wikipedia’s loyal editors are keeping it as updated as possible.
Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in London, it has been reported.
The Back To Black singer was apparently found at 4pm and her death is believed to be unexplained.
UPDATE (June 24 2011 0051): New source
Miss Winehouse, who came to fame with her debut album Frank in 2003, was found at her flat in north London this afternoon, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
They say that they received a call at 4.05pm calling for help for a woman in Camden. Paramedics were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is “unexplained” but not thought to be suspicious, according to police. Sources have told the Sunday Mirror that an overdose of drink and drugs is the suspected cause of death.
One of TV’s favorite person to make fun of. It’s a sad day today. I didn’t like her but I guess she still tried to be a good person in the end. And most often than not, it’s actually the last thing you do that counts.
