Book Review: Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler

Posted in life by Fated Blue on August 24, 2013

I’m gonna start things off on why I bought this book: The title made me. I’ve been reading John Green’s books with the book before this being Looking For Alaska. And I figured I need a new book with a not-so-different genre. And this book caught my eye.

It has nothing to do with me breaking up with someone nor I fear my special someone’s going to break up with me. I simply wanted a new book in all honesty. I mean, I haven’t had a girlfriend since time immemorial so I guess I simply want to read a book about breaking up.

I’m gong to keep this review short.

My Life’s Mona Lisa

I’ve been remembering some of my dreams recently. And the two posted below are too near to not post. I’ve had similar dreams of this girl or that girl before but not in this kind of frequency. I felt them as worth noting.

I’m a person that believes in interpreting dreams. Although not all dreams should be interpreted but there are those kind of dreams that seem to send a message. Perhaps a message that we already know yet refuse to entertain due to the many conscious efforts and distractions we do and have every day. I believe that in dreams, our true self is alive and awake. I believe that in dreams, our deepest wants and desires as well as the answers and reasons we all need are shown to us by our subconscious.

And I’m the type of person who would romanticize anything I can romanticize.

Rainy week: Flooding at the gates due to Maring and Monsoon Rains

Posted in life, weather by Fated Blue on August 20, 2013

You know how everything gets fucked up by the rain? Well, the country’s being plagued by one right now and this is achingly similar to Ondoy. It’s actually very scary. People all over Facebook and Twitter have been stating how everywhere is flooded and all that. It’s crazy that even where I am, where flooding isn’t really usual, the water’s actually just reached the garage floors. It even leveled with the sidewalk now. I can only imagine what it’s like for others specially those who have no homes or bad sewage systems.

My workout scheme for the past month

Posted in health by Fated Blue on August 10, 2013

I’ve been using kettlebells and bodyweight exercises for more than a year now and I can safely say I’ve developed some sort of an expertise when it came to making a good workout schedule. I mostly do my workouts one hour before I eat breakfast. And yes, I prefer a fasted state above any time of exercise. So I usually count at least 4 hours after my last meal before working out. It just so happens that I usually sleep for about 6-6.5 hours so I actually have more than enough fasting time to do this in the morning.

My mornings start off with drinking 4-5 glasses of water with a teaspoon of psyllium husk and one capsule of ConZACE (A vitamin with zinc, A, C, and E). I then let the water circulate around my body for about 10 minutes (I mostly browse Facebook while waiting). After 10 minutes, I warm up with the following:

3-4 jumping jacks

Arm and shoulder stretching

5 squats

10 Hindu Push-ups

After this I quickly set up the timer which is always set to 20 minutes but I often go over this or a few minutes off. This totally depends on the type of routine I did or the rest time I use up.
