MY OWN KETTLEBELL LADDER-COMPLEX

I love training with kettlebells. I’ve been blogging about them like crazy over the past few weeks and all this because of the various benefits of training with them can do.

So with this kind of enthusiasm, I’ve been trying out new stuff lately. I’m just a few days fresh from my recent kettlebell achievement and I’ve been doing something new. Here’s my current routine for this month. I’ve been experimenting with ladder exercises and complexes for the past two years and I figured it’s about time I combine the two. I’ve seen a lot of videos and blogs regarding ladders and I haven’t really given ladders a try or maybe that much enthusiasm. Here’s my own version of a Kettlebell/Bodyweight Ladder-Complex (which I’ll call Ladder-Plex or LP). Consider that I only have about 20-25 minutes to do these in the morning because we all have to go to work!

I Finished My 5,000 Kettlebell Swings Training

With regards to my earlier post, I just finished my last set for my target of 5,000 swings. I finished it without skipping a day in my 6x a week routine. I actually felt like I became a better “swinger”. I also lost 18 lbs of weight and maybe around 6 lbs of body fat since my body feels tighter. I might get back to my old routine but I may also try out something new. I’ll give this a go in maybe January 2014 and then maybe I can get the 500 per day swings for the 10,000 kettlebell swing challenge.

Doing 5,000 Kettlebell Swings In Less Than A Month

In conjunction with a previous post I reblogged, I’ve been doing something similar to this program since September 28 2013. But as I attempted to do 500 swings per day, I noticed that my body couldn’t handle anything more than 250 at the time. Mind you, my allotted time for kettlebell training is not more than 30 minutes for 6 days. What I’ve done to modify this is to make it easier for me to transition into 500 a day. What I did was simply do 250 kettlebell swings. I convinced myself that logging a 32kg kettlebell, versus the 24kg recommended bell and the “no rest day” routine, will somehow offset this.

Kettlebell Fairy’s Take On Crossfit

Crossfit is a fucking cult. It’s an evil brainwashing, moneygrabbing society engaged in torturing the weak and funding the strong.

I’ve never tried Crossfit. I probably never will.

While it seems to be the latest thing that everyone is doing, I just know it’s not for me. 

From what I’ve seen of Crossfit, it has positive and negative aspects that definitely can’t be overlooked.

I love the comradery of working in groups. I think it’s awesome to be in the same room with people who are working towards similar goals. It provides motivation and a teamwork mentality that isn’t seen in many other places.

However, I don’t think that everyone should be doing the same thing. I see my friends post pictures of their Workout of the Day (WOD) and it often horrifies me. I see things likehandstand pushups and overhead squats. Not everyone can do these things, and not everyone should.

While creating a WOD definitely helps people feel as though they are working towards the same goal, some…
