Book Review: The Small Change Diet: 10 Steps to a Thinner, Healthier You

I saw this book two weeks ago on a 70% sale in my local bookstore. I’ve always researched about fitness and how our body generally reacts to food and exercise. I myself have written a few blogs and even shared blogs that are quite interesting to read about. When I saw the book and perused the author’s titles in the front page and the first few pages of the book. I figured I need to have a little review of my own ideas and browse a certified professional when it came to fitness and weight loss.

I mean, I know how I did it and whenever my friends or colleagues ask me for tips or recommendations I tell them what I know not only from what I know but also from what I have researched and read on the internet, on books, and on videos. I just wanted to know more in a sense that I get to tell my friends “oh this author has some good tips” or perhaps actually give them a solid reference, the type of reference that they can actually hold, instead of me blurting out “I read somewhere that…” or “There was this article I saw that…” and this would be better because people yearn for concrete stuff nowadays and ideas to these kinds of people are all just wind.

Aside from that, I figured maybe I can get some good tips too and I found a lot in this book.

Book Review: A Song of Ice and Fire

Posted in entertainment by Fated Blue on May 12, 2013

I started reading this series late last year. The only valid reason I hadn’t finished this earlier was due to my career life and the numerous distractions that went along with it. I’m not gonna spoil anything as I am an advocate of spoiler-free reviews. I’ll simply tell you directly what I want you to know. But to summarize, the books on the left are the five of seven planned books and I’m raring to read the sixth and seventh already. In a nutshell: If you want something new to read, a series that has one incredible scriptwriter of an author, a series that doesn’t start and end with cliches, and a series that gives you goosebumps throughout the story line then this series is for you.

Movie Review: Sherlock Holmes

The official movie poster

I am now a complete fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Holmes” because of this film.

I have little to say about this film, some bad but mostly good. This review will be short.

I really liked watching this film. I found it witty, funny, and topped with a sense of adventure. It’s been a long time since I saw a detective movie (not to mention seen one in a theater). I never read any of the stories/books but I do know that Sherlock Holmes is the ideal detective one can know.

I liked the way the film touched on the science of magics and tricks back in the era of coal and steam. I also loved the way it adds the darkness of religion and the symbols it uses. Since I’m a fan of such occult subtleties, this was a big plus for me.

The movie was a must watch all in all with a certain problem that I think I’m not the only one suffering from: Robert Downey Jr.’s British accent.
