Stephen Colbert Gives A Wonderful Goodbye To Jon Stewart

jon-stewart

If you’re wondering what this is about, John Stewart of the Daily Show has officially retired from the show this Thursday which was just 12 or so hours ago from my timezone (it’s 40 past midnight here as I write this, Saturday morning). It saddens me because I only got to watch him back in 2009 and I already missed a lot. I don’t watch TV a lot but I like the way he tells the hard truth in a funny way. I also got to watch Stephen Colbert become a force to be reckoned with when it comes to political satire/comedy.

I’ll miss their tandem so much.

Here’s a video of Stephen’s impromptu goodbye message to Jon. It’s beautiful. #jonvoyage

One month into my program

Posted in food, health, life, youtube shows by Fated Blue on November 8, 2014

This is what my program looks like.

I’ve been progressing quite well. In fact, I’ve seen some muscular development particularly in the upper body. Also, I am now able to double swing a pair of 32 kg 60 times in under 5 minutes. My previous limit was 50 but now my standard is 60. Next month, if all goes well, I can push through 65 or even 70.

I still can’t directly press a 32 kg bell but my arm and shoulder strength have increased significantly to a point that jerking a 32 kg bell doesn’t seem too taxing anymore. I’ve also increased my stamina due to me not getting that “worn out” feeling after the 20 minute mark. I don’t gasp for air nor do I feel dizzy. I just feel a bit tired but not enough for me to go searching for a bed to lie on for the next few hours.

My Latest Kettlebell Creation: Godzilla’s Armor Building Complex

Posted in health, youtube shows by Fated Blue on July 5, 2014

I’ve been playing with my 24 kg kettlebells with Dan John’s Armor Building Complex and Pat Flynn’s Godzilla Complex. Both are extremely efficient at fat burning and muscle building and both will definitely strengthen your body as a whole. I’ve done both for weeks on end, alternating them on a daily basis.

So I figured, since I’m now including a pair of 32 kg bells in my workout schedule, I might as well try and combine the two.

One set would look like this:

2 double cleans

1 strict double military press

3 double front squats

1 double kettlebell lunge per leg

1 military press  per arm

Fat Burning “Fibonacci” Kettlebell Complex

Posted in health, youtube shows by Fated Blue on June 1, 2014

I wanted to spice things up on my weekends so I decided to invent my own little complex based on the ever popular(?) Fibonacci Sequence earlier today.

I take this inspiration from Pat Flynn’s Sequential Dismay. There are two versions of this as of this writing and below are the official videos. Note how Pat uses snatches and his friend uses the one from the blog.

Bonus: Pat Flynn’s Sequential dismay (both versions) using two kettlebells performed by this guy.

Kettlebell Burpees: A Pretty Cool Workout When You Want Something Different

Posted in health, life, youtube shows by Fated Blue on May 25, 2014

I’ve been experimenting with a whole roster of movements for my kettlebell workouts and it wasn’t until my recent detour from kettlebell training did I realize that I forgot one workout that I found very, very good for fat burning and a pretty sweet cardio. I’ve performed this type of workout before, using lighter kettlebells, and I’ve used them as part of a very long complex. It’s called the kettlebell burpee.

Now you may simply do a Google search and you’ll find a whole bunch of other videos of which you might mistake as the kettlebell burpee but not really. Although this is just me sticking to what a burpee should look like with kettlebells.

Become The Strongest Version Of Yourself

Posted in life, youtube shows by Fated Blue on March 19, 2014

This video gave me goosebumps. This made me want to lift the heaviest thing I can lift around the house! Thanks to Nolan for joining the contest and to Elliot for inspiring people like me to become stronger by not just exercising our bodies but our minds and hearts as well.
